Power Factor Correction

Capacitor Banks

These products correct poor power factor, thereby reducing or eliminating penalties charged by the utility; increase load capacity; and regulate voltage throughout your Electric Distribution System.

Fixed Capacitor Banks
Eaton fixed capacitor banks feature multiple capacitor cells assembled in a single enclosure. Each Dry Capacitor Cell features Dielectric fill (self-healing metallized polypropylene) as well as discharge resistors for safety. Each Fixed Capacitor Bank is designed for high reliability and long life. These products are designed for applications that do not contain harmonic generating loads.
  • UL Listed / CSA listed
  • For use with individual motor loads or with a motor control center
  • Rated for indoor or outdoor service
  • Fuses and blown fuse indication is standard
  • Standard ratings available 1-400 kvar, up to 600 VAC; other ratings available
Switched Capacitor Banks
Switched Power Factor Correction Capacitor Banks are designed with built-in intelligence to adapt to a facility's changing load conditions. They automatically monitor and control banks of capacitor cells, to maintain a the desired power factor level. As loads change throughout the facility, the solid state controller will add or subtract capacitance from the system to maintain a consistent level of desired power factor.
